Celebrate National Library Week 2015 (April 12-18, 2015) with the theme "Unlimited possibilities @ your library®."

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate.

Childrens’ Book Week

Established in 1919, Children's Book Week is the longest-running literacy initiative in the country. Held from May 4 – 10 in 2015, books for young people and the joy of reading will be celebrated for a full week with book-related events at schools, libraries, bookstores, museums, & homes from coast to coast! Show your support for the transformative power of literacy by visiting www.bookweekonline.com.

Children’s Book Week is administered by Every Child a Reader, the CBC Foundation, and is sponsored by the Children's Book Council.

The Heritage librarians would like to celebrate April 13th-17th by offering a “bonus book” checkout during their usual library class time to those students who don’t have any overdue items.

Heritage librarians will be doing a similar bonus book checkout for the week of May 4th-8th, which is Children’s Book Week.

Also, May 8 is the last day for checkout, and all library items should be returned by Friday, May 15.
