Planning Begins for Elementary Construction Projects

Thanks to the successful passing of the June 2013 bond by voters in the Olathe Public Schools, district staff are hard at work planning for construction projects at elementary schools across the district. Staff are meeting with architects and design work is beginning on the projects that include transitioning the district’s final set of elementary school classrooms without doors to classrooms with doors and the reconfiguring of front entrances to feature pinch points. A detailed plan for each building and communication about construction will be forthcoming as final details are determined. It is anticipated that the majority of these projects will begin this winter and are expected to be complete by next fall. Look for regular updates as we move forward.
