Mr. McFarland's News

One of the important steps in developing effective schools is to identify what you want to become.  Identifying where we want to go in relation to where we have been is the key to finding areas where we need to improve.  In order to establish what we want to become, I would first like to gather input from all stakeholders.
Over the next several months, I will be working with students and staff members on determining the direction for Heritage for the next few years.  We are calling this our 2020 Vision knowing that the year 2020 is just 5 years away!  In order to gain a parent perspective, I have posted a link to a quick survey for parents to take.  We are asking the following statements to be completed:

I believe that a good school is one that…
I believe that a successful student is able to…
I believe that an effective classroom is one in which…
I believe that a good school is one who…
An effective school is one that…

Thanks for taking the time to provide a parent perspective regarding the direction of our school.  I look forward to hearing your input as we move towards a shared vision of what we want Heritage to become.
Scott McFarland

3rd Grade Music Program "Bones!"

“Bones!”
3rd Graders performed the musical, Bones! On Thursday, January 29th.  In the musical, Sam and Susie, the custodians, knock over the great Cartilage Skeleton and all the bones get amnesia. They must work together to figure out which bone is which to get the skeleton back together. With help from the muscles, nerves and even a Chiropractor, they can recreate the skeleton in time for class the next day.
Wonderful job, Third Graders!
